Don't forget "An Evening with Nick Drake", a tribute by Keith James on South Parade Pier, tonight, Wednesday 18th August. Doors open at 8 p.m Keith James, acknowledged as the finest interpreter of the work of late lamented Nick Drake, is on his second tour performing Nick Drake's songs live on stage, and will be bringing his tribute to Nick Drake to South Parade Pier. Keith's last tours saw audiences filling Arts Centres and theatres to hear Nick Drake's music again. Nick Drake was somewhat of a mystery. Painfull, full of personal doubt and troubles, lonely and insular, he only lived to record three full albums - "Five Leaves Left", "Bryter Later" and "Pink Moon". In the last ten years more and more people hve come to appreciate his music, and Nick Drake has become one of the most revered of all contemporary English singer/songwriters. Keith James' tribute is not only a reminder of the huge talent that was Nick Drake, but also provokes thoughts of what Nick might have been capable of today. Support will be by Amrit Sond, and Portsmouth's own Josie Watts will open the evening. Keith James presents "An Evening with Nick Drake" at South Parade Pier, on Wednesday 18th August - doors open at 8.p.m. Tickets (£7) available on the door.
