Thursday 5th August Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier: ERROL LINTON'S BLUES VIBE After a great gig last year at The Bullfrog, I'm pleased to welcome ERROL LINTON'S BLUES VIBE back on Thursday. Since his first triumphant visit to Southsea's Bullfrog Blues Club, Errol Linton's Blues Vibe's fame has been spreading through the blues world like a veritable wildfire. Since the beginning of this year, The Vibe have performed regularly at all the prestigious venues on the blues circuit, and since the beginning of this year have played at prestigious venues and festivals throughout the U.K. The band are a good illustration of eclectic British blues, with part of their success due to the unique blending of blues and reggae. Errol has just finished being filmed for the Southbank Show, performing two tunes. The programme is based around seven street musicians and is due to be broadcast in mid August. At last summer's Womad Festival, Blues Vibe played to a packed house, with the crowd dancing till the last encore. In December the band played two dates in Japan, at Tokyo's Park Tower Blues Festival, becoming the first UK act to perform there. at Park Tower Blues. Also on the bill was guitar legend Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown. The last number of the last night of this three day event saw Errol Linton and Blues Vibe members Adam Blake, Jean-Pierre Lampe jamming a hot number with "Gatemouth". ERROL LINTON'S BLUES VIBE appear at The Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, Southsea on Thursday 5th August. Doors open 8p.m.
