Sweetgrass  first played together in a small coastal village in the west of 
Ireland in the summer of 1995. Since then they have been stirring up their 
unique blend of folk, bluegrass and celtic music. 

Mike Schachte is  based out of Montana’s Bitteroot valley and when she is not 
in the states, Kate Bramley calls Hull, England home, where  she is also a 
member of  Jez Lowe's Bad Pennies. 

Sweetgrass   have played throughout Ireland, Scotland, England and the 
northwest of America acquiring numerous influences along the way. 

Last  August  Sweetgrass  released their third full length recording, “
Falling Upward”, to widespread praise. Sweetgrass continues to expand upon their own 
songwriting and original sound, adding a new voice to some old standards as 
well as breathing life into their own style of Folk n’ Roll.
