FREE GIGS THREE TIMES A WEEK AT THE R.M.A.!!!!! Tuesday 23rd Sept.: RMA Folk Club: DAN OGUS an evening of "heavy wood", ably supported by HELEN ANDREWS, the discovery of this year's Fareham Folk Festival, and DEBS PEAKEthe former fiddle player from BLUEHORSES! This promises to be a fun evening, so c'mon down! Friday 26th September: FODERN PERKINS - bonkers rock & roll with a country twist - and CASUAL TIES - both bands feature Nick Evans, (ex REET PETITE & GONE) and currently with OBVIOUSLY FIVE BELIEVERS & WEREWOLVES OF LONDON! Saturday 27th Sept: MARCUS BANCROFT - surf blues from Australia! This will be Marcus' second time at The R.M.A. - he impressed us so much last time that The Barking Spider has booked him to support U.S. blues superstar KELLY JOE PHELPS at TheBullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier on Tuesday 4th Nov.!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- The R.M.A. Tavern is in Cromwell Rd., Eastney and features FREE top quality music almost every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday - N.B. There will be no RMA Folk Club on Tuesday 30th Sept, as the club will be having an outing to South Parade Pier to see the superb Irish singer songwriter ANDY WHITE, ably supported by our very own RMA folk club compere DAN OGUS !!! Coming next to The R.M.A. Fri 3.10. OX - a.k.a. Mark Browning; great Canadian singer songwriter hailed as the next Bob Dylan or Neil Young! NOT TO BE MISSED- this guy kept Radiohead from the no. 1 album spot on the Canadian college charts all this summer with his brilliant album "Dust Bowl Revival"! Sat. 4.10. DOGHOUSE- superb covers band fronted by Lee Burley, fearturing our very own Pete Dreads! Tues. 7.10. R.M.A. Folk Club - special guest t.b.a. (Steve the guv'nor's birthday!!!) Sat 11.10 SKUNK FUNK - great acid funk band! Tues 14.10. JACKIE LEVEN - absolutely TOP singer songwriter, recently had Richard Thompson supporting HIM on a tour of Germany! DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!! Sat 25.10 DAMIEN JURADO - American space folk from Seattle! The man responsible some of the most riveting introspective American folk music on the independent rock scene over the last five years. Damien says he's influenced by "Randy Newman, Neil Young, Lou Reed, Sonic Youth - the kind of songwriters who went all over the place!" DON'T FORGET - ALL R.M.A. GIGS ARE FREE!!!!!! .
