John Otway: South Parade Pier, Southsea, Sunday 28th September. John "two hits" Otway, never a man to do things by halves, set out at the beginning of the month,on an offshore pilgrimage to take his solo act to islands off mainland Britain. The Barking Spider sez "I decided if Otway was taking his act to far flung Islands that the first gig should be the Isle Of Wight and the grand finale should be Portsea Island" A few enquiries on the Isle Of Wight led Mr. Spider to "The Simeon Arms" in Ryde, where on September 3rd the tour kicked off to a sell out crowd. Otway's final solo show is at South Parade Pier, Southsea, on Sunday 28th September. He will be supported by The Amazing Mr. Smith, another true eccentric, who also shared the stage with Otway at the venue in 2002, at the second Southsea Folk & Roots Festival. Barking Spider are producing special "T" shirts for everyone who attended the first and last concert of "Otway Rocks The Rocks". Collector's pieces without doubt! "Otway Rocks The Rocks" tour ends at South Parade Pier, Southsea, on Sunday 28th September.
