The Eddie Martin Band are at The Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, Southsea this Thursday, 18th September! Eddie Martin is just about as good as you can reasonably expect blues to be. He's an incredible guitarist doubling on harmonica in a style like Sonny Terry in his hey day. He's also blessed with a superb voice, soulful and strong. Backed-up all the way by his rock-solid rhythm section (including former Gwyn Ashton Band drummer Mike Weidrich), Eddie Martin's show is a powerfully uplifting experience that shows exactly why he is widely considered to be Britain's most significant blues artist.. The Eddie Martin Band have just returned from a very successful tour of Italy and Croatia including festivals in Rovigo, Palermo, Bologna, Treia, Atri, Sassari, Novigrad, and Recco. Eddie was also invited to attend and play during the W C Handy Awards concerts in Memphis, where he also played a number of acoustic shows at the Black Diamond Patio on Beale St., often performing on National steel gutar. The recent "Pillowcase Blues" album (Eddie's sixth) reached Number 1 on Star FM, where it became album of the month. It was also album of the month for Italian blues magazine "Bluestime". Eddie Martin and his band are appearing at The Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier, Southsea on 18th September. Doors open at 8 p.m.
