Gig News: It's a bit of a quiet month on the blues front this month, but one important gig has just come in. I've been asked to open for Nine Below Zero at The Eastney Cellars on Wednesday April 25th. Tickets are available from the venue and I believe they are about £15.00 in advance. Andy Broad - Solo Acoustic Blues The Cellars @ Eastney Wednesday 25th April. Doors 8.00pm £15.00 Advance (more on the door). Also don't forget the regular jazz spot at the Kitch n d'or Andy Broad Solo Jazz Guitar Kitch n d'ot Restaurant Eldon Street Southsea Every Tuesday (17th April, 24 April, 1st May 8th May etc) Recording News: As it's a quiet month on the gig side we've taken the opportunity to get back into the studio. The "Festival Trio" Andy Broad, Matt Beckwith and Adam Franklin will be recording their first CD together at the Dug Out studios next Friday. We had a great rehearsal for it yesterday and so are looking forward to laying down some good stuff. This trio was formed to play at the Two Rivers festival in Chepstow, Wales, and will be returning to play there again this years (first weekend in July) but you can get a sneak preview of us when we open for Little Toby Walker at The Cellars @ Eastney on Sunady May 20th. If the post production on the CD goes to plan we may have copies for sale there. Speaking of Little Toby Walker Adam Franklin is organising a workshop with Toby in the Bognor area during the day , if you we looking for a chance to expand your finger picking blues repetoire this is it!
