Welcome to the Portsmouth blues news for November 2005 *CD news:* As you may have heard I recorded my forthcoming CD at Littlevillage Studios at the beginning of September. (Littlevillage is a very pleasant studio in the middle of the Hampshire countryside run by Tony Farinha of Werewolves of London fame. http://www.littlevillagemusic.com). The CD is to be titled "Broke Down Engine" and I hoped to have available by now, however by spooky coincidence my car broke down last month (with the engine being written off!), requiring a redirection of funds into getting a new vehicle... This temporarily messed up the schedule but I am now back to designing the CD cover etc. and so hope to have the new CD available for purchase, both at gigs and on-line, by the middle of November. *Gig news:* Friday 4th November The Bent Brief - Lodge Road - Portswood Andy Broad and Matt Beckwith. Back to do duo gigs together after a long break, this promises to be an exciting evening at this established blues venue in Southampton. Saturday 14th November The Square & Compass - Worth promices - Near Swanage Dorset Andy Broad. Solo Acoustic and Electric Blues If you not been here before, you've been missing one of the best, most atmospheric venues in the south. Excellent beer, served from a small hatch, the audience crowded into the small front room, with a dinosaur museum out back! This place is worth travelling too. Sunday 15th November - Lunch Time 2 - 5 pm The Red, White & Blue. Fawcett Road Southsea Andy Broad , Solo Acoustic and Electric. Another intimate venue, this time a little closer to home :-). Note this is lunchtime gig, unlike the previous two Sundays I've done here so don't some down in the evening you'll miss the gig! Wednesday 7th December - on Stage 8pm The Grey Horse - Richmond Road, Kingston on Thames Andy Broad - Acoustic Blues My first visit to this venue, I'm taking part in one of their monthly acoustic nights, I'll be one of 4 or 5 performers, it would be great to see some of you guys up there! Every Tuesday at the Kitchndor Southsea Phil Jones and Andy Broad - Jazz Guitar. Come down for a relaxing evening of jazz guitar music inspired by the likes of Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, Django Rheinhardt etc. Large tables should take the precaution of booking in advance but they can usually fit in an extra table for two...
