Hello every one, Here's latest news on gigs and stuff for you all. First a quick review of my gig at the Bird In Hand in Fareham yesterday afternoon. (not sure if it's cool to review your own gig but who cares...) This is very unusual gig .. it's hardly you'd think of as a blues gig, in many ways it is more of a rough and ready family pub, but they allways seem to respond well to my blues set. I always play it as an electric gig, as the audience seem to prefer the rougher, rawer John Lee Hooker sound, I didn't quite manage to get them dancing this time (on my last appearance there I was working to a full dance floor, a rare delight for a solo blues gig!) but received plenty of positive feed back both during the interval and during the second set, (the audience are not scared to wander up to the stage and tell what they think, in some places I've played this would be worying!). One interesting addition to my usual performance, I had forgetten my watch (again!) and had no idea how long was left to the set and so I found myself doing the blues walk out into the audience so I could see the clock on the other side of the bar! This is a crazy gig at a wild venue, I'll be there early in the new year I hope to see some of you there I'll let you know when! Here's rest of my gigs for october. Friday October 10th The R.M.A Tavern, Cromwell Road, Eastney. The Continentals featuring Andy Broad and Buster Wingham. Expect a blistering set of loud, in your face chicago and texas style blues. Friday October 17th The Boar Hunt Village Blues Club, North Boar Hunt Village Social Club. The Continentals featuring Andy Broad and Buster Wingham. More blues, with a bit more room to dance. Phone Steve on 023 92 254909 for ticket reservations. Friday October 24th Andy Broad solo acoustic and electric urban blues. Last months gig here was a storm, this is an excellent venue, it was full before I got there and more importantly they didn't leave!
